TheRethinking Power and Resistance: Gender and Human Rights from Texas to the Transnational Americas Conference Footagecollection contains edited footage from the 2012 conference. The conference was sponsored by the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies, University of Texas at Austin as part of its Embrey Women’s Human Rights Initiative.

Abstract

This collection contains newspaper clippings from the Inforpress Centroamericana Archive. The twelve binders that comprise the digital collection are part of the series "Violence in Guatemala," and contain 4,619 newspaper clippings and documents arranged chronologically. The news articles illustrate the different types of violence prevailing in Guatemala between 1978 and 1981: political violence, violence during the internal armed conflict, and common violence.
