HRDI-01. Post-Custodial Archives

The collection contains lawyer Scott J. Atlas' digitized case files and audiovisual materials related to his work with Ricardo Aldape Guerra, a Mexican national wrongfully held on Texas Death Row for fifteen years before being exonerated in 1997.

TheMuseo de la Palabra y la Imagen’s Radio Venceremos radio program collectioncurrently contains 432 digital audio files of radio broadcasts transmitted by Radio Venceremos throughout the Salvadoran Civil War (1981-1991). Additions to the collection are ongoing.

Consists of audio and video recordings which feature conversations, music, interviews, recounts of events, and segments focusing on the history of women's rights, contemporary gender, class, and race issues, the armed conflict, and the subsequent peace accords in Guatemala.

"Quilombos do Vale do Ribeira SP/PR" is an archival collection that documents the history of the founding of MOAB/EAACONE, as well as the social and political organization of quilombola communities in the Ribeira Valley over the past thirty years.

The collection contains twelve videos that document relief efforts, the daily life and testimonies of internally displaced people, relief team training, individual FBR relief workers, and the history of Burma; the documentary videos were produced by the Free Burma Rangers, an organization that provides humanitarian aid to internally displaced people and documents human rights violations in Burma/Myanmar.

Embroidered textiles created by exiled Salvadoran women in shelters managed by the United Nations during the Salvadoran Civil War. Through their embroidery, the women communicated human rights violations to the world.

Posters and periodicals produced by insurgent groups, armed forces, and organizations in solidarity with El Salvador.

The Genocide Archive of Rwanda Collection contains oral history testimonies, photographs, publications, documents, and other materials related to the 1994 Rwandan Genocide that are held at repositories across Rwanda.

TheMuseo de la Palabra y la Imagen’s Tejiendo la Memoria radio programscontains 28 episodes of “Tejiendo la memoria,” created and produced by the Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen (MUPI) and broadcast by the Association of Participatory Radio Programs of El Salvador (ARPAS).
