This collection includes materials related to the research, writing and publication of the book Las Tejanas(2003). It contains extensive biographical, topical, and audio-visual materials collected during the research and writing of the book, correspondence and documentation of Acosta and Winegarten's collaboration and writing process, and materials related to the publication of the book.

Personal archives documenting the career of Brenda H. Burt during her various positions at the University of Texas at Austin. The papers deal with Mrs. Burt's community advocacy with minority groups on campus, particularly Black students. Also found in this collection are extensive media resources related to the history of Black students on campus and their relationship with the UT administration.

Silk-screen prints, film posters, prints, and other artworks collected or produced by Austin, Texas based artist, Carlos Lowry. Artwork covers topics and events related to U.S. solidarity movements with Latin America and Austin and Texas-based activism for Chicano rights.

Papers of Dr. Carlos Morton, a Mexican American playwright and professor, includes scripts (published and unpublished), essays, production ephemera, correspondence, and other related materials created between 1960 and 2020. The collection represents Dr. Morton's many published works, including The Many Deaths of Danny Rosales and Johnny Tenorio, as well as his education and positions at various academic and cultural arts institutions.

The Charles White Research Collection includes material related to visual artist Charles White (1918-1979) collected by Dr. Eddie Chambers.

Correspondence, research, written works, collected publications, audio recordings, video recordings, and teaching material reflect the life and work of David Montejano (1948 -). Montejano is a historian, sociologist, author, Mexican American activist and professor. Born in Del Rio, Texas, Montejano has held positions at University of New Mexico, University of Texas at Austin, and University of California Berkeley.

The Delta Xi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was the first Black Greek-letter organization established at The University of Texas at Austin. The Delta Xi AKA Oral History Collection includes seven video interviews with Delta Xi members, interview transcripts, and images.

Edmund T. Gordon is an activist, anthropologist, professor, administrator, and founding chair of the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies at The University of Texas at Austin.
