Guatemala--History--Civil War, 1960-1996

Materials collected by United States-based scholar William (Bill) Malone. The collection contains pamphlets, newsletters, articles, clippings, and other printed materials produced in Guatemala, which document and contextualize the Guatemalan Civil War and the years immediately following.

This collection contains newspaper clippings from the Inforpress Centroamericana Archive. The twelve binders that comprise the digital collection are part of the series "Violence in Guatemala," and contain 4,619 newspaper clippings and documents arranged chronologically. The news articles illustrate the different types of violence prevailing in Guatemala between 1978 and 1981: political violence, violence during the internal armed conflict, and common violence.

This collection documents Guatemala through the country's civil war and aftermath. The collection mainly concerns human rights, violence, politics, and indigenous culture.

Consists of audio and video recordings which feature conversations, music, interviews, recounts of events, and segments focusing on the history of women's rights, contemporary gender, class, and race issues, the armed conflict, and the subsequent peace accords in Guatemala.
