Tells of having sent Simon Sanchez, a sheperd, to Monclova to have bullet extracted; that Indians shot him; that several heads of sheep were lost; that wheat has been plated; that the bearer is to help round up horses; and 4,520 lambs were collected, 1817, December 9:

Saltillo. The Intendant of the Province of Sn Luis Potosi received, on Nov. 8, 1816, a superior order from his Excellency Sor. Virrey which he quotes. The order is to the effect that beginning Oct. 21, 1816, the treasury of Saltillo is not to be a paymaster's office as it was in the beginning, nor included in the general command of Chihuahua as it afterwards was but as a Roay Treasury -- a depository for all funds belonging to the Royal Treasury.
