Scope and Contents Note
The bulk of the collection consists of photocopies of papers and telegrams from various research institutions and presidential libraries in the United States and Latin America. Most of the material is from the 1960s.
The collection is organized into two series: 1.) Organizations and Archives and 2.) Presidential Archives. The first is arranged alphabetically by the names of the various institutions from which the materials were collected. The second series is arranged alphabetically by the names of the presidential libraries.

Biographical Sketch
Jonathan C. Brown's book, Cuba's Revolutionary World, came out at the Harvard University Press in the spring of 2017. He has written four other single-authored books: A Socioeconomic History of Argentina (1979); Oil and Revolution in Mexico (1993); Latin America: A Social History (2005), and A Brief History of Argentina (2009). Three of these books have been translated and published in Latin America. One appeared in Chinese translation. His first book on Argentina, published at Cambridge University Press, won the Bolton Prize. Brown also has edited a collection of essays on workers and populism in Latin America and co-edited books on the Mexican oil industry and on Argentine social history. In 2023, the University of Pittsburgh Press will publish Brown’s study on the diplomacy of General Omar Torrijos to convince Washington to renegotiate the 1903 Panama Canal Treaty. His current research consists of comparing and contrasting the two Cuban revolutions of the twentieth century as well as Juan Domingo Perón’s political leadership in Argentina during the 1970s.
