Born Digital Records

The Born Digital Records series contains 26 floppy disks, 1 flash drive, and 10 CDs. The CDs contain 1,004 digital files (4.45 GB) in various formats, such as .doc, .xls, .mp4, and .jpeg. These files include planning documents, program drafts, photos, videos, awards, and emails concerning the 28th (2001) and 31st-33rd (2004-2006) Annual Conference. The floppy disks contain 584 digital files (20.2 MB) in various formats, including conference planning documents, awards, outgoing communications, program drafts, and photographs concerning the 24th-26th (1997-1999) Annual Conference. Other born digital files include those of board member Louis Mendoza, such as written works, correspondence, and personal files. In addition to board member files, documents related to Northern California and Tejas Foco can be found, such as meeting minutes and regional conference planning documents. To improve user accessibility, a few floppy disks have been renamed in the finding aid to better reflect the content of the digital files. The flash drive contains 130 files in the .doc and .pptx formats. These documents include general and administrative files, meeting minutes, and resolutions from the Coordinating Committee from 2008-2012. The flash drive also includes meeting minutes from the Midwest Foco. The dates for these files were determined based on their last modified timestamps. In total, the series comprises 1,813 digital files totaling 4.68 gigabytes. Born digital items were digital preserved (SIP #2025_0165 & #2026_0277). An access copy was produced to facilitate access in the reading room.
