Resource Yellow Books

Depending on the fiscal year, Yellow Books may include: a preliminary budget; questions and answers to be answered for the record – in preparation of the budget hearings (regarding the Department of Education's proposed budget, what type of studies were funded, amount spent on different programs); testimonies given at hearings; memos; correspondence; releases; news clippings; program descriptions. Other material includes: information on relevant court cases affecting how the bilingual education money is appropriated (e.g. the Lau v. Nichols case, Lau Remedies); budget tables depicting ESEA Title VII distribution of funds; partial copies of U.S. Senate reports; copies of resolutions (House, Senate); and funding history statements.
