History of Architecture and its Myths, Survey III served as a comprehensive survey on the history of modern architecture, 1890-1980. Created and developed by Alofsin, this survey was the University of Texas at Austin’s first in-depth overview of modernism and the forces affecting the varieties of modern architecture that emerged globally from the late nineteenth century to the 1990s.

Analog and born-digital records include notes, lectures, readings, course planning documents, and lectures recorded on audiocassettes. This sub-subseries also includes his 'Survey III Image Bank' of slides accumulated by Alofsin as supplemental visual material for each lecture. 35 mm slides, originally arranged in slide carousels by lecture in 2003, have been rehoused, retaining original order. Original order is retained.
