B3a: A Tense Alliance Research, 1914-2005, undated

The A Tense Alliance Research sub-subseries contains the analog and born-digital research and field reports completed by Alofsin and other members of the A Tense Alliance research team of scholars. The team was made up of scholars: Matúš Dulla of Bratislava, János Gerle of Budapest, Henrieta Movačiková of Bratislava, Leszek Jodlinski of Cracow, Petr Krajči of Prague, Aleksander Laso of Zagreb, Christopher Long of Austin, Texas, Marco Pozzetto of Trieste, Damjan Prelovšek of Ljubljana, Monika Platzer of Vienna, Jacek Purchla of Krakow, Rostislav Švácha of Prague, and Igor Zhuk of L’viv. Rudolf Klein, Ákos Moravánszky, Ilona Sármány-Parsons, and Karen Koehler were also contributors. The project resulted in the international traveling exhibition, "Shaping the Great City: Modern Architecture in Central Europe, 1890-1937." The research covers the history of architecture in Central Europe with a focus on Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Bosnia from the mid-nineteenth century to the early 1930s.

Records in this sub-subseries include field notes, research notes, correspondence, materials on the exhibition, and collected reference materials. Some materials are in languages other than English, including German, Hungarian, Czech, and Slovenian. Original order is retained. Research articles are organized in two alphabetical groups: those entered into Alofsin's Central European Architecture (CEA) bibliography, and then those that were not, as indicated by Alofsin with the symbol "-O-."
