B2b: History of Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) Manuscripts, 1866-2012, undated (bulk 1986)

The Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) Manuscripts sub-subseries contains work completed by Alofsin, editor Julia Bloomfield, and research assistant Andrea Greenwood as commissioned for the publication on the history of the GSD. The first drafts of the manuscript, completed on a Wang Laboratories word processor, were never published by the GSD. This subseries also contains materials for Alofsin's subsequent book The Struggle for Modernism: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and City Planning at Harvard. Published in 2002, the work focuses on modernism as reflected in design education at Harvard, and follows the history of architecture, landscape architecture, and city planning from 1900 to the early 1970s.

Materials include book proposals, manuscripts, correspondence, photographic materials and photocopies . Original order is retained.
