Project# 0084.070 Historic Resources Survey and National Register Multiple-Resource Nomination of Ennis, TX, 1984 - 1985

The City of Ennis sponsored a historic resources survey in support of its participation in a 1982 city revitalization project with a Community Development Block Grant and the City's participation in the Main Street Program. The City hired HHM to document all pre-1935 buildings and structures within the city limits. The survey identified 1,286 properties, 156 of which were recommended to eligible for listing in the NRHP either individually or as part of a historic district. HHM also prepared a molt-resource National Register nominated that resulted in 39 individual properties and the downtown commercial historic district being listed in the NRHP.
