Project# 0083.010 Victoria Historic Resources Survey, Phase 1: Historic Resources Survey, Victoria, TX, 1983 - 1984

In 1984, HHM under contract with Victoria Preservation Inc. completed a historic resources survey of Victoria, Texas. The survey enabled Victoria to have an inventory of its historic sites in order to implement a pragmatic approach to preservation planning. HHM surveyors recorded 2,400 pre-1941 sites, and in addition created a brief history of the city’s physical development, a narrative of survey procedures, general observations, recommendations and an explanation of survey materials. A total of 431 sites were found to be eligible for National Register of Historic Places nominations.
