Charles Weldon York was an interior designer and faculty member in the Interior Design Division in the Department of Home Economics at The University of Texas at Austin. The collection documents York’s professional career as a designer, author, and educator. Record types include course materials, correspondence, notes, student work, and reference articles.

Hal Box was Dean of the School of Architecture at The University of Texas at Austin from 1976 to 1992 and practiced architecture for 40 years, apprenticing with O'Neil Ford and serving in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corps. Drawings, boards, papers, and photographic material reveal his architectural and teaching career, and his involvement in Earthwatch.

During the better part of the twentieth century, John Astin Perkins was considered "the decorator of choice" in Dallas and was credited with bringing New York Style to that city. With a career spanning 70 years, his work encompassed schools, clubs, homes, office buildings, hotels, and department stores. Drawings, photographs, ledgers, correspondence, awards, ephemera, scrapbooks, and published materials document the architectural and interior designs of John Astin Perkins.

Lucy T. Shoe Meritt began her career as a student, teacher, and scholar of classical archaeology and architecture in 1915. The collection consists of documents reflecting her many publications (at different stages of publication), drawings separate from publications, correspondence, personal papers, photographic material (including slides) separate from publications, oral history audiocassettes, and miscellaneous other material.

Walter Rolfe (1900-1967) taught at The University of Texas School of Architecture and practiced architecture in Houston and Beaumont, Tex. The collection includes papers, correspondence, manuscripts, printed material, photographs, books, awards and medals, paintings and drawings that document Rolfe's life and work.
