Abstract

Ayres and Ayres, Architects, records represents extensive documentation of a prominent San Antonio firm spanning a period of 83 years of practice (1894-1977). Atlee Bernard Ayres (1872-1969) and his son Robert Moss Ayres (1898-1977) formed a partnership in 1925. Papers, photographs, and drawings document the long practice of the San Antonio architects. The firm library was donated to the Architecture and Planning Library Special Collections.

Abstract

Ida Scott was born Ida Calhoun Futch in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma in 1926 and studied at the School of Architecture at the University of Texas from February 1944 through June 1947. Photographs, drawings, and papers illustrate her education, career, and interests in furniture, barrier free architecture, and women in the profession.

Abstract Philadelphia architect Paul Philippe Cret was retained by the University of Texas at Austin as a consulting architect for the development of a master plan for the campus (1930-1945). Cret was born in Lyon, France in 1876, attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris (1897-1903), and specialized in the design of public buildings.
