Biographical Sketch
Anthropologist Dr. Steven Rubenstein received his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1995. He held teaching positions at Georgetown University, Ohio University, and the University of Liverpool. Dr. Rubenstein served on the executive board of the Society for the Anthropology of Lowland South America (SALSA), and as editor of SALSA's journal, Tipiti. He was the author and editor of a number of works, including two books:Border Crossings: Transnational American Anthropology, co-edited in 2009 with Kathleen Fine-Dare (in the Benson Collection at call number GN 42 B67 2009), and the 2002 monographAlejandro Tsakimp’: A Shuar Healer in the Margins of History (F 3722.1 J5 T777 2002). His personal library was donated to the Center for Amerindian Studies (CAS) at the University of St. Andrews.
