Historical Note
Historias, a StoryCorps program, is an initiative to document the stories and experiences of Latinas and Latinos in the United States. The Historias initiative launched in 2009. Through this initiative, a copy of the interview is presented to the interview subject, with additional copies sent to the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress as part of a comprehensive StoryCorps archive. Historias oral histories are part of the archive at the American Folklife Center and the Benson holds an additional copy to provide another access point.
