Declassified Materials, 1948-[2006]

During the processing of the George Lister Papers seven hollinger boxes of restricted material, carrying varying levels of restricted access markings (top secret, classified, restricted, eyes only, confidential, or private, for example), were discovered. These papers were sent to the LBJ Presidential Library for declassification review by NARA. In some cases, the LBJ had to refer Lister materials to other governmental agencies. The "Declassified" series contains the portion of these materials which have been declassifed to date. Upon return of the remaining materials this series will be divided and integrated into this series. Interested researchers should consult with the Benson Collection archivist about recently declassified material that may not yet be integrated into the Lister papers.
