Scope and Contents Note
The collection is organized into two series: 1) Administrative Records and 2) Audiovisual Material.
Administrative Records include performance scripts, Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana (MACLA) residency program agreements, programs, flyers, and playbills. This series also includes digital files stored in optical disks (CDs and DVDs). Digital files include text files, photographs, audio tracks, and video.
The Audiovisual Material series includes black-and-white and color photographs of BdP members, slides, negatives, and MiniDV videotapes of two performances.

Historical Note
Butchlalis de Panochtitlan (BdP), a theater and multimedia performance group, founded in Los Angeles, California and was active 2002-2010.
Raquel Gutiérrez, a performance artist and writer, served as artistic director for BdP. Gutiérrez was co-founding member together with Mari Garcia and Claudia Rodriguez. Past collaborators included Nadine (Nadino) Romero, Rubén Martinez, Richard Montoya, Luis Alfaro, Laurie Woolery, Josh Kun, Dino Dinco, Jaime Cortez, and Ricardo Bracho.
BdP self-describe not as drag kings but as "butch dykes/transgender butches/gender queer speaking subjects that are not trying to pass as men; instead, the BdP explores the liminal space of queer boi-dom and the identities and the neighborhoods" they claim as their own or are claimed by.
