Texas Conference for the Mexican American: Improving Educational Opportunities

The Texas Conference for the Mexican American: Improving Educational Opportunities (April 13-15, 1967) held in San Antonio was a follow up to the 1966 National Education Association (NEA) sponsored conference The Spanish Speaking Child in Schools of the Southwest (held in Tucson, Arizona). The Texas Conference was sponsored by the Inter-American Education Center, the Southwest Educational Development Laboratory, and the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Bernal was Chairman of the Texas Conference Planning Committee.
