Segment #2 MUNICIPAL ID CARDS

Despite strong pressure from President Bush, passage of major immigration reform by the congress remains tenuous. Many communities and states throughout the country are not waiting for federal reform and are passing immigration measures on their own. On June 4th, New Haven, Connecticut became the first city in the country to approve a municipal identity card designed to give protections to undocumented residents. Yet the city does not have the power to intercede in raids by immigration and customs enforcement, leading to tensions in the community. Contributor Melinda Tuhus has this report. (0:00)

Lucha Libre...the showy professional wrestling of Latin America is wildly popular in countries like Mexico and increasingly in the United States. The colorful masks, capes and high-flying lunges have made the sport famous worldwide. Recently, the comedy movie, 'Nacho Libre,' brought attention to the decades-old sport in Mexico. But one type of wrestler in Lucha Libre forgoes the mask for intricately embroidered costumes, fully coiffed hair, and shiny boots sewn with flowers. These are the exoticos, flamboyant luchadores who are just as tough as their macho counterparts. From Chicago, Yolanda Perdomo has the story of Cassandro, the self-proclaimed 'Queen of the Ring,' and one of the first world champion exoticos. (0:00)
