Segment #1 LONG ISLAND IMMIGRATION BATTLE

For years, Congress has failed to act and fix the nation's broken immigration system. This led many local communities to pass their own anti-immigrant legislation. So far, the courts have largely struck down these municipal laws. But that didn't put an end to the tensions in local communities. Recently, Latino USA's Mario Murillo traveled to one such community, in the more well-to-to regions of Long Island, New York. (11:38)

Segment #2 UNDOCUMENTED SENIOR

It's June, and that means across the country close to three million high school seniors are donning caps and gowns and crossing auditorium stages for the official handshake and diploma. It's a celebratory rite of passage with many looking forward to college. For thousands of high school seniors, though, crossing the stage also means an end to their educational opportunities. Students without social security numbers can enroll in public schools, but enrollment into universities is much more complex. From San Francisco, Nancy Mullane has this profile of one graduating senior committed to a college education, even without a social security number. (6:37)
