Segment #2 Commentary: LA CUCA GOTCHA

In February, two afternoon-drive shock jocks known as 'The Jersey Guys,' at WKXW-FM, a local talk radio station in New Jersey, launched a campaign asking its audience to turn in illegal immigrants who live in the Garden State. Many Latino residents and elected officials in New Jersey are denouncing the station for using the public airwaves for what they call deliberately provocative racial profiling. Commentator Mario Murillo believes that the Jersey Guys are only two of many influential media personalities who use their platforms to attack an easy target, all the while oversimplifying a very complex issue. Through websites like Myspace, Latin American musicians are now able to connect with artists around the world in a way like never before, and that's causing big changes in music and culture.
