Segment #1 FAMILY DETENTION CENTER

Imagine, you've been arrested and you're an undocumented immigrant. Until recently, the government's policy was 'catch and release,' whereby you would have been quickly released and given a notice to appear before a federal immigration judge. Now, new federal immigration policy mandates illegal immigrants be detained while they await deportation proceedings. At a private facility near Austin, Texas, children are being detained along with their parents under the new rules. It's one of the two facilities in country where families are held on non-criminal charges. Sarah Bush brings us this report on the new, family-style approach to immigrant detention. (4:21)

For centuries, celebrations around the world have included piñatas'treat-filled clay or paper-mache figures suspended on a rope to be smashed by excited party goers. In San Francisco, one Salvadorian craftsman goes beyond familiar mass-produced piñatas. Lisa Morehouse has his story. (4:12)

The 79th annual Academy Awards...the glitter...the spectacle...the stars Penelope Cruz nominated for 'Volver,' Adriana Barraza and Alejandro Gonzalez-lnarritu for their work on 'Babel,' Guillermo del Toro for 'Pan's Labyrinth' and...Anacleo Medina. He may not be a household name, but actors, directors, and film fans worldwide are very familiar with his work. A select few have even held his masterpieces. Medina is in charge of molding each Oscar statuette at R.S. Owens & Company in Chicago since 1983. (1:59)
