Segment #2 BILINGUAL EDUCATION

Spanish is pretty unpopular in same parts of the country. Libraries have stopped buying books in the language. Cities have passed English-only laws. And three states have banned public bilingual education. But some parents are so eager for their kids to learn Spanish, they're willing to pay for it. And more than a dozen private dual immersion schools have opened nationwide over the past few years to cash in on the interest. Reporter Lygia Navarro visited the newest of these schools in Oakland, California. (4:21)

Segment #3 CHILD OBESITY

It's not unusual anymore to spot 'chubby' or overweight kids anywhere we go. But it seems like kids are getting heavier...younger. A new national study funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation examines obesity in 3 year-olds and finds that Latinos tend to be twice as likely to be overweight or obese...from Austin, Texas, KUT's Joy Diaz has this report.
