Mexico's top electoral court has announced its decision and named conservative candidate Felipe Calderon as the president-elect of Mexico.. .a decision that followers of leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador say they refuse to recognize. For his part, Calderon is calling for a dialog with his political rivals...who say Mexico's closet presidential election in history was mired by fraud. When President Lula da Silva was elected four years ago, almost one in three Brazilians went to bed hungry. Lula vowed to stamp out hunger by the end of his presidency. Although it received widespread praise from around the world, Brazil's Zero Hunger program faces harsh criticism from political observers who say it is President Lula's way of buying votes from the poor, especially since Lula made the program'and continuing the fight against poverty'the banner of his reelection campaign.
