Segment #2: FERRER CAMPAIGN

For the first time in New York City history, a Latino, Democrat Fernando 'Freddy' Ferrer has reached the final round of the elections for mayor. A Puerto Rican raised in the South Bronx, Ferrer is a former Bronx borough president. This is the third run he's made for mayor. This time he's trying to unseat Republican incumbent Michael Bloomberg- a self made billionaire who is the odds-on favorite. John Edwards, the 2004 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate, visited New York recently to try and give a boost to Ferrer's struggling campaign. This fall, lawmakers are hashing out their differences over a guest worker program for undocumented immigrants. But for decades, thousands of Mexican workers have been coming to the U.S. each year, legally, through the government's H2 temporary work visas. Segment #4: BRAZILIAN CHORINHO MUSIC

Samba is the most famous music from Brazil. But another musical style called 'chorinho' (SHORE-EEN-YO) combines some of samba's elements with a lighter and more lyrical sound. Independent producer Reese Erlich visited one group of musicians in Rio de Janeiro who are trying to re-popularize this 100-year old musical tradition. (7:07)
