History is full of stories of cities destroyed by natural disasters. But in most of our lifetimes it's a rare occurrence. New Orleans is the most recent and perhaps most personal example. But more people were-probably killed in Mexico City's Giant earthquake of September 1985. The destruction and subsequent reconstruction of buildings, services and lives changed Mexico City, one of the world's largest urban centers, forever.
