Political pundits continue to debate the significance of the Latino vote in the recent mid-term elections. There are strong disagreements over just how Latinos voted in some states and what their real impact was. Latino USA's Alex Avila spoke with a number of observers of political participation in the electoral process and he has this report.

Latino television and film producers gathered recently for the fourth annual National Association of Latino Independent Producers conference. The NALIP gathering comes at a time when Latino filmmakers are producing such high profile movies as 'Frida' and 'Real Women Have Curves.' Despite this visible success some Latino producers say the barriers and challenges that they face have not disappeared. Correspondent Belinda Acosta writes about television and pop-culture for 'The Austin Chronicle' newspaper. She attended the NALIP conference in San Antonio, Texas and has this report.

By way of Chile comes a strong, agile, and sparkling jazz talent that has brought new life to the world of vocal jazz. Claudia Acuna won critical acclaim with her debut album 'Wind from the South.' Where she explored and gave a definite Latin flavor to jazz standards as well as reinventing well known Spanish compositions.
