Some of us have been listening to Linda Ronstadt for almost 30 years. Through a recording career that spans nearly four decades Linda Ronstadt has produced a extraordinary range of musical works: folk, country, rock, big band, Broadway, mariachi, and even light opera. Ronstadt's recording career began in 1966 when as a member of the Stone Poneys she had her first top 20 hit, 'Different Drum.' She went on to win her first Grammy Award as best country female vocalist for Hank Williams classic 'I Can't Help It.' By the 80s Ronstadt shifted from pop and country to performing in the Broadway production of 'The Pirates of Penzance.' Ronstadt also played Mimi in 'La Boheme' and released three hugely successful albums of pop standards While many know her primarily as the seventy's icon of California rock, Linda Ronstadt, who has Mexican roots, is a performer that has profoundly influenced many of today's most successful musicians. She joins us from her studio in Tucson, Arizona.
