Economic collapse and political turmoil in Argentina. Many of us in this country have been watching the economy like never before, waiting for an upturn. A few weeks ago the primary concern for Wall Street and Washington, though was in the Southern Cone watching to see whether Argentina's peso devaluation would also impact the economic stability of neighboring countries such as Brazil and Uruguay. But those worries seem distant as food riots and the threat of a middle class exodus continue to wreak havoc on this once prosperous South American country.

The new PBS show focusing on familia. For public television film maker Gregory Nava revisits a theme he first presented on the big screen in his movie 'Mi Familia.' It was about an extended Latino family living in East Los Angeles. American Family is PBS's first new dramatic series in years. And it was originally rejected by commercial network CBS.
