Celebrations in Latino landscapes, part 1.

Segment #1 Latino USA's Michele Garcia and Maria Hinojosa visited New York City chef Zarela Martinez. They asked her to share a dish that embodies the idea of unity and offers a fusion of cultures. Chef Martinez produces a tartlet known as garnachas de masa, a recipe that represents the meeting of three worlds: African, Spanish, and Mexican.

Segment #2 Maria Hinojosa speaks with Steve Curwood, the host of 'Living on Earth,' about the traditional celebration of El Dia de los Muertos.

Segment #3 Puerto Rican storyteller Elidia Guardia Bonet shares her most precious family memories. Elidia tells a story of growing up under the mango trees in Panama.
