Segment #1 Remembering the Latinos and Latinas who lived and fought in World War II, and how these veterans feel about America's newest conflict.

Segment #2 America has many reasons to be grateful to the Veterans of World War II, but perhaps Hispanics in this country have more reasons to be appreciative. It was this generation that was largely responsible for many civil rights advances, for the formation of organizations like the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the American GI Forum. An oral history project at the University of Texas at Austin is documenting the stories of these Latinos and Latinas of World War II.

Segment #3 Some thoughts from Korean War veteran and renown Chicano history scholar Rodolfo Acuna on the difficulty of navigating a minefield covered with flags.

Segment #4 In New York City where death and lose are themes which have loomed heavily since September 11, some have found solace by observing the pre-Hispanic celebration of El Dia del los Muertos.
