September 11 terror attacks

On this special edition of Latino USA, we remember those who have lost their lives in the last few days in this new, more insecure United States.

Segment #1 The terrorist who attacked on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center did not discriminate in their deadly actions. One person who barely missed being a statistic in New York is Arnulfo Chino, a native of Mexico, who has worked his way up from dishwasher to waiter at the World Trade Center.

Segment #2 The strong ties between Mexico and the City of New York.

Segment #3 Although the attacks came from the air there is a new focus on security on the U.S. border.

Segment #4 Many People have compared the attacks in New York and Washington to the attack on Pearl Harbor, which launched the U.S. into World War II. Youth radio commentator Sylvia Rivera says she prays that some the mistakes of that war will not be repeated.
