Segment #1 It's been a week of loses. Actors Carroll O'Connor and Jack Lemmon and another great talent as well, composer- arranger Chico O'Farrill. Called the most adventurous Latin jazz composer to emerge between Mario Bauza in the 1940's and Eddie Palmieri in the 1960's.

Segment #2 In recent days the South American country of Peru has experienced a mixture of tragedy and triumph. Tragedy in the form of a great earthquake. And triumph in the arrest and extradition of former spy chief Vladimiro Montesinos.

Segment #3 Latino's on death row. Some Latino activist says its time for a moratorium on the death penalty.

Segment #4 Nopal cactus, also know as devil's tongue, may not come immediately to mind you when looking for something new for lunch. But in Mexico and the Southwest United States, the prickly pear cactus has been cooked and enjoyed for generations.
