They cover his 1817 sea voyage from India to Englan-1819 voyage from Liverpool to Buenos Aires and Valparaíso, stint as ship surgeon in the Chilean Navy during the War of Independence, blockade of Callao with Thomas Cochrane; service with José de San Martín's army in Peru and Bolivia, and later civialn work in Peru to 1827.
