Juan N. de Arispe at Saltillo writes to Sr. D. Quirino Benavente at Patos concerning a disease iminent in the wheat crop, advising that only 50 bushels of wheat be sent to Andres de la Fonente until payment is sure; refers to a charge in which a hanging was averted only by paying 300 pesos of the 900 pesos due; advises no delay in paying taxes. In the postcript he refers to the death of three mutual acquaintances and agrees to the dismissal of 200 goatsherds, 1851, April 26:
