Gabriel de Yermo, the maker of which is in question; effort to obtain this information from Maria Nicolasa de Avila of the beaterio de Nuestra Sra. de San Juan; thinks it probable that despite the scarcity of pack animals Jose Martin has arrived at Don Miguel's; as to the goat that was taken, the fellow showed up during the hog killing season but left afterward and probably took the goat with him; remarks on the blitheness of these fellows who, with no remorse of conscience, make use of other people's property seemingly feeling that property in general is common property; concerning turning over the old hembras of D. Miguel's hacienda to Jose Martin; speaks of the probability of his retirement from business because of a susto received the previous year; therefore he wishes to close D. Miguel's account; has written the Deputy regarding the finding of Raymundo Mosqueda and of Suarez and the recovery of the mule from the former; unfavorable weather is causing distress; wheat crop, however, is good; silver industry at a standstill because of lack of quicksilver; news has came of arrival of quicksilver at Vera Cruz with more to follow, 1802, June 10:
