Francisco de Mattha to Dn. Jph Migl. Shez. Navarro, his father. States that Juan Zpl., the bearer, is taking the ledger in order that the cost of his wedding may be entered therei. Says that he has not been able to load lumber on account of the Indians, and that he went out with 78 men and was attacked by a large number of Indians, 1774, September 22:
