Materials relating to the topic of music in Texas include correspondence, music and lyrics of early Texas songs, notes, programs, announcements, clippings, and a few photographs. Correspondents include Oscar J. Fox, Radie Britain, and E. Clyde Whitlock. Represented among the music are patriotic songs from the Republic of Texas, songs commemorating the centennial of Texas independence, cowboy songs, Czech and German songs sung in Texas, Mexican War songs, and Spanish and Mexican folk songs.
