Series B: Winedale Institute in Historic Preservation project records, 1973-1992

The Winedale Institute in Historic Preservation project records series contains photographs, negatives, log books, maps, notes, reports, creative works and field note drawings. The series documents students' work in the documentation of architecturally historic sites. Students conducted historic research on the owners, sites and locales, sometimes conducting oral history interviews, as well as producing architectural renderings and photographs. Buildings documented include those in the Winedale Complex as well as the Fayette County Survey, and work done on sites in the following counties: Austin, Colorado, Hays, Refugio, Travis, Washington and Williamson. Some of these projects were documentation for the Historic American Building Survey (HABS). Most of the project sites are residential structures, but commercial sites such as the Kreische Brewery Complex and the Burton Cotton Gin also are included. The partially chronological order established by the Winedale Historic Center library largely is preserved.
