Series F: Earthwatch

The Earthwatch series represents work produced during Box's time with the Earthwatch Institute. Earthwatch Institute is an international non-profit non-government organization (NGO) that issues grants and coordinates expeditions for field work in the physical, social, and life sciences. The majority of approved projects receive multi-year sponsorship. This was the case with Hal Box and Logan Wagner's investigations, which began in the 1987 season under the title The Mexican Art of Building and continued in 1988. In 1989, the study's name changed to The Architectural Heritage of Contact-period Mexico, continuing through the 1994 season. Following a two-year hiatus, Wagner resumed the expedition without Box in 1997; currently, the last season funded by Earthwatch was summer 2000.

The Earthwatch series includes two subgroups: Papers and Data files (administrative records, publicity, correspondence, reports, papers, data, photographs, etc.) and Drawings (approximately 325 flat drawings arranged by city/site and then by project name/view and date) related to Earthwatch activities at various sites. This series is not completely processed. All geographic locations should be verified. Projects lacking geographic locations are listed before those with locations.
