Project# 0994.04 Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan, Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, TX, 1999 - 2000

The project scope of work included reviewing all previously completed historical and archeological surveys at NAS Corpus Christi; developing an historic background that summarized the World War II history of the station from previous reports and researching the role that NAS Corpus Christi and its major tenants played during the Cold War; and an intensive survey and evaluation of all resources at the station built prior to 1992. The survey documented 362 non-residential buildings and structures including 75 Contributing properties within seven historic districts. The report recommended re-classification of 14 properties previously determined as Contributing resources to Noncontributing status due to integrity loss. Further, no property was found to possess exceptional significance for Cold War association.
