Project# 0097.060 Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan for Naval Air Station Fort Worth, TX, 1997 - 1998

Modeled after DoD's HARP Plan, HHM prepared an Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plan (ICRMP) for Southern Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command. The ICRMP provided the Navy with information to assist with the preservation of significant cultural resources at NAS Fort Worth JRB. Although the base is currently a Naval installation, historic resources at the station were constructed of acquired when it was under Army, and later Air Force, jurisdiction. The report complies with DoD regulations regarding cultural resource management responsibilities for all branches of the service and development of an agency-wide approach to cultural resource management. The ICRMP includes a review of previously completed surveys of NAS Fort Worth JRB; an historic context; an inventory of identified cultural resources at the base; a summary of federal preservation-related regulations and the Department of the Navy's cultural resource responsibilities; an analysis of NRHP-eligible properties at the base; and recommended procedures for future preservation and cultural resource management. While preparing the document, HHM prepared supplemental documentation on Building 1430 for submittal to the Texas SHPO. After reviewing the materials, the Texas SHPO reversed its earlier decision regarding the eligibility of Building 1430 and concluded that Building 1430 is not eligible for the NRHP and thus is no longer subject to the Section 106 Process. There were no change orders on this project. HHM was subcontractor to Turner Collie & Braden Inc. on this project.
