Project# 0097.020 Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan of Naval Support Activity New Orleans, LA, 1997 - 1998

HHM under contract to the US Navy developed an Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) for Naval Support Activity (NSA) New Orleans. The ICRMP was an update of the 1988 survey and replaces that document. Major components of the ICRMP included: 1) A review of the previously completed historic and archaeological survey at NSA New Orleans 2) A historic background that examines events and trends leading to the founding of the base and construction of all facilities 3) An inventory of identified cultural resources at NSA New Orleans 4) A summary of the federal preservation-related regulations and Department of the Navy’s cultural resources responsibilities 5) An analysis of significant cultural resources NSA New Orleans 6) Recommended preservation and cultural resources management procedures. The project was completed in 8 months.
