Project# 0095.090 Historic Resources Survey of Enid, Phase 3c: East Hill Historic District, Enid, OK, 1995 - 1996

HHM conducted a comprehensive, intensive-level survey of the Southern Heights District in Enid, Oklahoma. HHM documented 254 resources and recommended 103 were eligible for listing in the NRHP. Field investigations consisted primarily of photo-documentation and recording all of the properties in the project area with the goal of achieving 100 percent coverage in the project area. HHM also prepared a historic context that discussed the evolution of Enid’s separate black community and its ultimate diffusion throughout the city as a result of school desegregation in the 1960s.
