Project# 0086.010 McKinney National Register Multiple-Property Nomination, McKinney, TX, 1986

An intensive survey and multiple property National Register nomination were the products of HHM's 1986 study. The survey phase of the project identified 1,744 buildings, structures, and sites built prior to 1935. Each identified property was evaluated for architectural significance and association with significant historic contexts and assigned a "high," "medium," or "low" preservation priority. Properties included in the "high" category were considered for National Register designation. The nomination included 50 individual properties, four groupings, and two historic districts. The nomination is significant as the first to use the multiple-property format, developed by the National Park Service in 1985.
